Ace your exams with sleep!

Studies show that when you sleep you revive your brain with the needed recharging power to recall the content that was studied. By starving the brain from sleeping you minimize your recall functioning of your brain and will find it difficult to remember what you’ve studied. As a teacher and a student I find 10 hours of sleep does wonders for me, yet it is not always possible because we want to cram all the information into our minds the day before and even the few minutes before our exams. A study in the UN showed that learners who do not study for an hour before their exams  have an increase in their recollection of the content in comparison to their fellow students, who studied until the entering into the examination halls. The moral of the story: get enough sleep before you write the exam and don’t try to cram the information into your brain right before the exam. Enjoy a good nights sleep get up fresh eat a good balanced breakfast e.g. high in Omega 3 and 6 (fish, nuts), relax do something else to calm your nerves e.g. gardening, swim, exercise, don’t read or watch TV, listen to soft music that stimulates the brain not over exerts it. Don’t drink any caffeine based products or gas drinks.
